Eastgate Pop-Up returns to support independent businesses in Chester

Eastgate Square is delighted to announce the return of Eastgate Pop-Up, a flexible retail space designed to help independent businesses, makers, artists and emerging brands connect with customers in the heart of Chester.

The initiative returns with its first residency from 10–12 July, welcoming much-loved fashion brand Queens of Archive for a special three-day takeover.

Known for its carefully curated collection of exclusive, limited-edition slow fashion, Queens of Archive has built a loyal following for its distinctive blend of timeless elegance and unapologetic individuality. The arrival of the brand at Eastgate Square follows significant demand, with many visitors regularly asking to see the retailer brought to the city centre.

Located within Eastgate Square in St. Michael’s Arcade in the unit formerly occupied by LK Bennett, the pop-up space has been created to give businesses an opportunity to test new ideas, build brand awareness and gain valuable exposure to city centre footfall without the commitment of a permanent store.

Whether it’s an online retailer exploring a physical presence, a local maker looking to reach new customers, or an established independent brand wanting to try something new, the pop-up has been designed to offer a flexible and accessible route into one of the region’s busiest retail destinations.

Lisa Rogers, Centre Manager at Eastgate Square, said:

“We’re really excited to see Eastgate Pop-Up return and to welcome Queens of Archive as our first residency.

One of the things we’re most passionate about at Eastgate Square is creating opportunities for independent businesses to be seen, discovered and supported. Not every brand is ready to take on a permanent shop, but that shouldn’t stop them from having a presence in the city centre.”

Queens of Archive Creative Director, Nicola Orme, said:

“I’m delighted to be showcasing the collection in my home city of Chester. The Pop-up provides a great opportunity to meet customers in person and a rare chance for everyone to explore and interact with all of our product”.

Eastgate Square is now inviting expressions of interest from independent retailers, makers, artists and brands interested in taking over the space for future residencies.
